Still such a fun and wonderful concept! Very original idea and very colorfully executed. Your storytelling and character design abilities are such an entertaining and enjoyable selling point for this game. The viability is definitely there and it’s a fun experience to learn about each character and make choices around their stories. The legibility for the text is sometimes a little difficult against the background so definitely watch out for little things like that. Otherwise, great work, great feel and delightful characters. Looking forward to seeing you take unity for a spin!

This was AWESOME!!!!!!! The environment, the characters, the comedy. I may have just played it, but I became so invested in these characters. The concept is both hilarious and intriguing and you handled it so well.

The one critic I have is that there were moments when the text blended/clashed with the background hurting my eyes to read sometimes, but I think that should be an easy fix.

again AWESOME!!!!

AW thank u so much! YEAH I definitely need to work on readability lol. I'm glad you were invested in the characters, that was my goal!

the art in this game is beautiful !! made me really excited to see who would pop into the frame next, and i really enjoy how expressive the characters were based on what choice the player made. the witty writing style was very entertaining, and the choice of background music was a great fit !!

Thank you so much! Lol I'm glad the writing fit, I was trying to make it sort of tongue-in-cheek without letting it get annoying if that makes sense

I KNOW RIGHT I really wanna add some sort of inventory I love the thought of drawing little pixel items ... I think it would make a lot of sense for the main character to pick up stuff as they go through the world looking for their wife!

You have a great mechanic at the center of your game. Testing player's general knowledge about religious beliefs and their  ability to empathize and say the right thing creates great moment to moment gameplay. It seems that you could permutate  these two abilities, creating scenarios in which players need to know both, or even ones in which they need to choose between one and the other. It is very smart of you to design in this episodic way right now. The next step is to use variables to create a "record" of player's choices, which may lead to further scenarios. Why not use Manny for that (love the Grim Fandango influence, BTW)? You could easily create a variable called something like $mannyTrust, which grows every time the player does the right thing. Eventually, when $mannyTrust reaches certain level, you could open a new scenario involving Manny's quest-line. You are, of course, welcome to disregard my suggestion, but I make it so you get a sense of how a robust adventure game could unfold. Good job!

Oh wow, I love that idea! It's a great way to start introducing some of the variables we were talking about in class. Thanks so much for the feedback, Abe, I've got so many cool ideas now coming from that!

This is such a great story and concept, and it's already shaping up to be something very unique, so just keep at it with these ideas. Your coding is obviously great right out of the gate. As you streamline your coding skills over the semester, just keep an eye on things like legibility and accessibility for the player to be able to clearly read and interact without being overwhelmed by all the bells and whistles. Love being introduced to all these unique characters. Just think about how you might weave in some more meaningful choices for the player so that they feel more active and present in their role in the story. Amazing first piece! Can’t wait to see what else you do!

Yep, all that fun stuff is the plan for this semester! Just gonna keep on chugging along and see where it goes! Thank you sm for the feedback : D
